Hahaha, the above article from The Onion, says it like it is.  I totally just had this exact experience last night at one of the local watering holes in my neighborhood.  The day before Thanksgiving (Black Wednesday) is regarded as the biggest drinking night of the year at the bars because everyone is home for the holiday.  So I made my way out only to have one after another uncomfortable encounters with people I haven't seen since High School.  The funny thing is that tomorrow (Black Friday), is going to be a repeat performance of yesterday because my rock band is doing a gig at the other happening bar in the neighborhood.

For those of you who don't about Thanksgiving in the U.S., it's the yearly celebration commemorating the pilgrimage of the pilgrims who fled Britain for the U.S. which led to the start of the country.  Anyway, we get days off from work for it, and everyone gets together with their families and feasts on copious amounts of turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and mmm mmm all kinds of great eats.

so yeah, even if this doesn't apply to you....
