Our Japanese friends need our help!!!

Our good friend Olivier Desmet over at Amenti Music just released a new mix compilation called:

This release just came out today on Beatport. It was compiled and mixed by Olivier's dear friends Kai & Megumi from Solid Tokyo. Amenti is donating 100% of the proceeds from sales to the Red Cross to support relief efforts for those affected by the earthquake in Japan.

Any and all support for this compilation would directly benefit the cause for those who are suffering in Japan. It would be greatly appreciated if you could pass this info on to your facebook friends, twitter followers, and/or mailing list. I really hope we can get people from the house community to rally together and make a difference for some people in need. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide to help us spread the good word. Thank you so much for all your love and support over the years. Now lets spread it where it is needed most!

This past weekend was International Bacon Day and it was celebrated here in Chicago at the famed Sunday Brunchlox party held at Karl Almaria's (of Bunchlox Records) house. I happened to stop through there and chow down on plenty of bacon, pulled pork, and other random bacon infused delights such as bacon drizzled sticky buns. Chicago based 5 Magazine, which may be the one and only magazine that is completely dedicated to House Music has hit their 5th year in the biz and to celebrate they have compiled video interviews from 40 Chicago House Music artists as well as a free new track download from each artist. Right now they are featuring my interview as well as a brand new totally free track to peep and download that I made specifically for this. You can't get it anywhere else. I hope you guys dig it and thanks for all of your support over the last 5 years, which is when I got heavy into the bowls of House Music myself. I couldn't do it without all of your support. Spatula City Records is proud to presents its 21st release! Back after a three year hiatus from the land of kitchen utensils returns France's favorite sons Bobby & Klein with their new record "French Toast EP". First established on Spatula City three years ago with their dance floor smash hit "Party All Night", the duo returns with a super heavy cream pour of pure funky house perfection.

The first tune "Get That Bass" is a straight away bass line banger. Funky rhythms alongside a wicked wobbly bass line makes for loose belts and pants falling down fun on the dance floor. This tune is a favorite among swingers and sex addicts alike.

The second cut on the A side continues with the bass line madness. "Keep It Coming" incorporates a juicy bass line smothered over Latin rhythms, complete with a sexy vocal hook that keeps you coming back for more ;)

On the backside we have the "Party All Night (Original Recipe)" , which has been long awaited by many house music enthusiasts. This mix mimics the original that was released three years ago, except it has a killer wicked radio intro that is perfect for starting off dj sets and hyping up the crowd. It is an absolutely wonderful dj tool.

Spatula City Records is proud to presents it's 20th release! To celebrate this accomplishment, starting with this release, all Spatula City vinyl releases will come in super spiffy full color record jackets. For this release Spatula City is incredibly elated to give you a top notch release from Nashville's newcomer house phenom Wattie Green. This is Wattie's first vinyl release and we are glad to have him aboard our gravy train as he delivers us the "Midnight Radio EP".

The first tune on the record is a must have lowdown n jazzy jam called "Wake Sally Baker". This tune is an amazing dirty jazz delivery of walking bass lines and piano riffs that hit the essence of an era of jazz that few house producers have been able to relic. The piano hooks and up jumping beat make this tune a must have jam that transcends many boundaries of the many house niches.

The second cut on the record is another journey through jazz called "Wattie's Dream". Wicked sax licks battling relentless piano over a dreamlike groove push n pull the senses across time. Packed with melody and groove, this track is a dancefloor soul grabber, and a bit of an ass grabber as well.

On the flip we have a nice n loud 45 rpm pressing of "Is You Is", which perfectly complements the other two tracks on the late night jazz artifacts tip. Wattie brings this EP to a head with a swing infused vocal hook, and wicked bass undertones. Piercing piano lines work and work and take you 'round n 'round the dancefloor through to the key modulation toward the end that is the icing on the cake. Such a well rounded track for such a well rounded EP.
